No clio sport will not do 150mph lol! I had mine sat at 130mph and was absaloutly ringing its fuckin neck lol, and before some little nob on here says ewww you shudnt be going that fast im going to say it was on private land! ha! If you do purchase a clio please ensure the central locking works! mine didnt, could never open the boot and also always had to open and get in it from the passenge side as there is only a key hole on the passenger side????? it was some sort of mudule under the dashboard that was down and wouldnt let me unlock the doors off the fob, A second hand module and then to be programmed by renault only was just shy of £700. Also i think the dealers only charge £900ish for a cambelt change as they like to take the engine out of the bay to do it, where as if you find a good mechanic who has been in the trade for a while then im sure he will have the pottential to do the cambelt whilst the engine was still in the car.

That's the major difference between the 172/182 and the 197/200 they are far more stable at speed

It could say it on the clock but it would be majorly over estimating itself unless it had a fair few mods

My Corsa 12v had 120 (or 130, I forget) on the clocks yet couldn't even go 100mph. Go figure...

Still had 200 rpm left too (on the Autobarn obviously)
Mine was stable not too sure why people reckon they are unstable. My Xe Corsa was what you would call unstable.

Didnt look unstable, probably like the civic. Ie light and quick on the steering but not wobbly
I beat our record in germany with the new civic as its got another 800rpm's and more poke

Gotta laugh at all these comments about the timing belt.
Served my time at a Renault/Nissan dealer and never once seen an engine out to do a belt.
It's not doing the timing belt thats hard, it's the tensioner for the auxiliry belt on aircon models that is the most awkward bit.
Most common way round it seems to be cutting a small section out of the upper crossmember behind the drivers headlight so you can just stick a decent sized extension into the tensioner.
I done the belts on my Phase 2 without cutting it as i didnt want to be 'rough' on my own car, then a week after doing the belts the PAS pump went and i just cut the fucker as i couldnt be arsed pissing around.

Is high mileage common? Does it matter?

agreed with that, although we never used to cut any holes, just removed the wheel arch liner and managed fine from there. It is tight compared to some other cars but most hot hatches with big engine and small bay all suffer from having little room to do anything, my GTi 180 was the same when doing the cambelt although I used the correct locking tools on my own car.

I thought mine was terrible over 100, not geared for doing it for any prolonged length of time.
