You might have to firstly if there's any sort of faffing by the other party, typically to the bodyshop who fix your car and you are then reimbursed.

Although I would hope it's a fairly easy claim. Certainly the circumstances are fairly clear to write up.

It's a tidy, old car and quite rare.

Undoubtedly his fault but I wouldn't wish losing a car he likes on him.

Saw this earlier.

I've owned a few Triumphs/Mg's in the past...and the the bloke there will be well lucky not to have any damage to his left leg. You literally sit in the thing with the engine on the LHS of your left shin.

Nasty accident indeed. A head on in a 40+ year old car is never going to be good

I sent an email off to the local council explaining the incident.
I asked them to review and confirm that they're sub contractors have setup the safest traffic management on that road, and to confirm whether or not they believe letting traffic queue up around a sharp bend on a busy main road (60mph?) is within that safe practise.

There are some road signs, but not many and nothing that really stands out.

Insurance company collected the car yesterday and should get an estimation shortly.
Time to sell up and look at something else I think.

did a tsco come out to check the road works are to standard, can you tell me the speed of the road

if its a 60mph road or even a 50mph that site is wrong can tell just buy 1 of your pics
With the traffic queuing round a bend the signs should be on both sides of the road really , not wrong but good pratice

as the rta happened within a road works site a tsco (traffic safety control officer) is
ment to make sure that the site is correct and installed by a qualified rtmo.
they will make sure that the signs are the correct distance from the beginning of the actually site (where the cones start ) . sign size, cones size plus reflective jackets as the cones have to have certain percentage of reflective and none reflective.

also all temporary traffic managament should have a ttro( temporary traffic road order ) to be fully legal

if you want to really get into it have a read of the chapter 8 stuff on here
