I wouldn't say Pique and Puyol were weak defenders?
Yeah they are, compared to some other teams. They have a big benefit in that play togetehr a lot of the time but neither of them are that great, same weakness at Barca too tbh. Ramos is a great player but a suspect defender at times and LB has been a Spanish problem for years now.
Not a huge weakness and a ncie one to have compared to say England but even so
I personally think Enrique should be given a chance at LB for Spain.

This is my first international match
Would like Spain to put on a masterclass, especially due to having money on them at the amazing odds being offered!

Probably. You'll get the likes of Martin Samuel and Oliver Holt creating the biggest wankfest ever, then when we lose the next game it'll be time to sack Capello. The media make me dislike the whole national team. It'll be exactly the same when the new manager comes in after the euro's, praise, praise, lambast, call for his head, new manager in > repeat. I hope Spain show us exactly why we should be doing more for our own kids. Did anyone see Xabi Alonso's interview today? He's going to be a top manager one day.

There's been a lot of crap on Talksport which makes me hate the media in regards to England.
They're bitching that we should be playing our strongest possible team against Spain, which in a way, I understand, but if we did that and lost, then Capello would be murdered, we'd be the worst team in football etc...
In my opinion, we should be planning for the 2014 World Cup, I'm not fussed about the Euros, we're there now, so that's good, and i'll get carried away with it when it comes around like every years, but we should be blooding the youngsters in friendly matches, and giving them a run out against the best in the world can only be good for them, even if we do lose (as everyone fully expects) - What happens if we somehow win (at 4/1)? The media will be going absolutely crazy bigging us up again, "new youngsters are stars" etc... then we'll lose to Sweden in the week and Capello should die etc... But think of the boost that'll give the youngsters if they put in a decent performance against England
The likes of Terry, Rio, Lampard, Gerrard aren't going to be playing in 2014, fair enough a couple of them might make 2012 but for me they're done and should be considered fringe players now.
(I'm aware some of these aren't in the squad, it's for the future)
Hart
Richards Smalling Jones Cole
Walcott Parker Milner A.Johnson
Rooney Sturridge
Would probably be my suggestion going forward, and find someone young-ish to replace Parker in the next couple of years (He's in there because of my tinted specs btw...) and someone at left back, but our best bet in youth is Gibbs and he's permanently dead, or possibly Kyle Walker if he can switch sides
tbf, this whole post is pretty much only aimed at Steve as the rest of you couldn't give a shit anyway, so not sure why I have done it

Busquets is a cunt. Phil Jones is getting tons of space, Spain are a poor man's Barca atm, lots of passing but no Messi to get through

In fairness they have to be defensive to contain them. I'd like A.Johnson on personally to add some pace to the left wing as we're playing counter attack.
If we go 1 down hopefully we'll go 442 and get Sturridge up front as well.

Also, I hope we don't win this as the press will be ridiculous and lump tons of pressure on the youngsters, let's be fair we haven't been great and scored from a set piece. However have dealt well with the Spaniards so far.
Also, wooo wellbeck is on.
