Suppose it depends what you like.
I stay there as we do work at the cement site in tinwell. Its got decent hotels (stay in garden house, normally, unless bull n swan or william cecil has offer on) few good bars for ale and some very good restaurants, including voujon, which is possibly my favorite curry house in uk.
It would get on my tits if i lived there with all the squaddies, seen many a ruck because of them.

TBH, Selby isn’t the best. For some reason, I thought it was a posh kind of place, perhaps a bit like Beverley, but, I was wrong. I was there some months ago for a works "do"; at an Indian place near the river (I can't remember the name of it). At least half of Selby looked as if it was closed down or derelict!

Luton is the biggest shithole I've ever been to, its always raining even if its the hottest day of summer it will be grey skies and fog.
Also abandonded washing machines everywhere

I never said it was, Selby is shite but compared to hull its fucking heaven. I went to uni there, where we parked in a nearby pub there were needles are over the floor and burnt spoons
