A girl jumped off the walls a few months ago, landed head first on a bench(100ft drop) bits of brain and skull on the floor. It wasn't pleasent to say the least. Made me wonder what would drive a person to that.

Worst I saw was a guy who jumped out of the top floor of a hotel in Lincoln I was working at. The Night Manager and I found him. Thought he was a pissed up student at first until we got closer and saw the mess.

i feel like i'm missing out here. only dead body i've seen was my great nan in an open coffin in the chapel of rest. was a very weird experience.
seeing someone with their brain and skull splattered on the floor must be very strange.

It was, she was quite young as well. Terrible way to go. Must be in a bad place to do that to yourself

Still affects you.
If you think about it properly, put yourself in that guy's family etc., it becomes more real. Very easy to say you don't care but think about it properly and you might.

You should carry a checklist like those people who've never experienced it, be fine then.

I dealt with quite a few dead bodies in the police, some very very gruesome, and it does effect you regardless of what you say, especially when dealing with the sheer heartache and shock that the families are going through

I've seen 3 dead bodies. One RTA, one suicide jump and one death by natural causes.
All 3 were at work, which I think helped me detach myself from the reality of it as I had a job to do. I wasn't affected by any afterwards. Not trying to sound hard, but I am quite strong when it comes to death etc.
RTA was outside the hotel in MK. Biker wiped out at a roundabout. I was one of first not involved people on scene.
Suicide jump is already described in thread. Suicides/attempts/cries for help at hotels are common because the person knows they will definatley be found.
The natural causes one was a fairly old guy who was a CEO of a company and was on a business trip. His colleagues informed us that he hadn't come for breakfast and they were waiting for him to leave with them for work. They had rang his mobile and no answer. We rang room. Same again. As DM I knocked on door. No answer. So used master key to gain entry with a colleague. Found him in bed. I called 999 whilst colleague tried to resus, but he was already clearly dead. Managed to get body out of hotel without any other guests knowing.
