When I did bungee's in NZ I spoke to the people at AJ Hackett (inventors of the bungee) about this and whether it would happen.

They said, they've never had a problem with their bungee's - but they sell their old bungee cords off to non AJ Hackett places after they've been used a certain number of times and the only incidents ever happen on non approved AJ Hackett bungees.

In other words - if you want to do a bungee... only do it at a AJ Hackett site

I think you'll find most people go Tubing in Laos Steve, you can do it in Thailand but it's not as popular there.

i did it in ayia napa , i was still pissed, they gave you option to either touch water or miss it , i opted to touch but i actually went in to my waist awsome buzz but i wouldnt do another
