Road bikes take some getting used to Ben, took me a while. Admitedly I haven't been out on mine yet this year, bought some Lycra legging things seeing as I only had bib shorts and still hasn't tempted me to brave the cold

I did that last year Rick! Although some clever bastard decided we should do the three peaks after the bike ride.

Take a bucket of Chamois cream and some sudocrem

I'm seriously considering getting a Specialized Venge! They do one called an 'expert' which comes in at £3k complete! Cheaper than buying the S-Works version at 2.5k just for the frame...... Only problem is its money I don't need to spend

Also been looking at a local race series that runs during the summer! Might give it a bash if I'm feeling brave :s

My mountain bike, nothing special, about £500 I think it was, hardly used it, hoping to get up cwmcarn with it at some point. Looks like puke green in the picture but it's a really nice lime green.

I've been looking at on-one 456s and a ragley blue pig, both are ~£1500 though, so not really justifiable seeing as I've only been back up the chase 2 times lol

on-one, same company as planet x, I have a planet x track bike, cracking piece of kit, really well built, worth the money. Customer service wasn't the best in all honesty though.

Tell me about it mate! Have a quality local shop called Primera Sports and they often have some serious kit in there! Had the McLaren Venge in stock last week all set up and ready to go in exactly the spec Cavendish used in the TDF! £12k

Apparently they have sold 3 of them

Have found a local road race league which starts in May so gonna go down and take a look see if the pace is something I can deal with! 10 laps of a 2.5mile loop of road with 'regular bunch sprint finishes' excites me

Wouldn't want to be doing that distance regularly on a mountain bike that's for sure, personal opinion though.

Was planning getting the bike out last week as temps were up to 7deg but this week its gotten really frosty again. Been going to the gym 4 days a week aswell to get fitter aswell.

Iv got a 2010 Boardman comp, nothing special but saw it as a good starting point. Was around £600

Went out this morning for a 15mile session around the country park and local woodland. Not it done in under and hour so not far off my usual pace. Was silly muddy though I was all over the place.

Also I think it took longer to clean the actual bike and clothing after then the ride did

Roll on summer
