It's going to be a complete bitch to climb in and out of. Still, I'd have 6 point.

Mine is a 6 point rear cage :-) but its custom so you can't buy it like that

If I was you with a dedicated track car mine would definetly have the front section with door bars, I didn't go for that as the car is a nightmare to climb out if in a tight parking space as it is already!

When your guy says it's £40 a point, is that not going to be each point that needs a weld? As that'd actually be about 16 points that need welding, not 6.

Wouldnt get anywhere near that price from a company

Just bought a Saxo Cup cage with twin dogleg door bars and tunnel brace for my Rallye, going collecting it on Saturday so will start putting it in this weekend. Im dreading it if Im honest!

Still only 6 point though so Im guessing it wont be that difficult?

Bought it second hand from the Rallye register for £600, looks mint condition though and he didn't use the original mounting hardware either which should make life easier than making plates to weld myself.

Think they retail about £1200ish?

i reckon these cages are overpriced imo

you could buy a climbing frame from argos for 50 quid that is essentially just bars welded together

I agree with you to be honest! I wouldn't have bought one brand new but when I looked at the quality and fit of the OMP ones that were in my price bracket (around the £500 mark) I decided a second hand Safety Devices was better. Lucky for me this one came up although I wasn't bothered about one as complex as this, I would have been happy with a basic 6 point with single rear diagonal.

Which ones have you been looking at Steve?
