Sigma engines were known as zetec-se by ford.
Although they just put zetec-s on all of them until the second variation of the 1.6 came out (with the black top)
There was only one zetec-s model mk5 fiesta and that was the 1.6 with the "s" body kit

In fact, all zetec-s Fiesta models have been 1.6 only to date

Steve is correct. The zetec s is the model name, but the engines also have it on.

it may well have had an S on the engine cover but that didn't make it a 1.4 ZS; there was never a 1.4 'Zetec S' model.

yeah it was, except the black top phase 2 1.6 engines, which had the correct zetec-se written on it.

There was never a "Fiesta Zetec S" with a 1.4 litre engine, full stop. Whatever the engine code was, this isn't the model descriptor. You were still in nappies when those cars were being built.

No 1.4 Zetec-s but you could have a 1.4 Puma.
Anyway these are great little cars and handle superbly. My little 1.25 had the ZS springs and shocks on it and it was fun.

They had zetec s on the engine covers though so you can understand why some people went around calling them zetec s

Just to confuse matters even more, the mk5 Fiesta Zetec-S championship cars were 1.4

Most of them were just normal mk5 fiesta shells with the zetec-s bodykit.
Engines were 1.4 blueprinted with straight through exhausts (iirc) and running around 100-120bhp.

Don't see the fascination or how they can be over 100bhp when they are so slow.
Yea they handel ok, but so do most other hot hatches of the same age
