Thats why my Dad got a tuned up Porsche Boxster rather than a BMW M Coupe cos he has got a "Porsche" not a "BMW" And its better built and sounds nicer.

Ahhhh the difference from being <20 and being >20
I thought the idea of buying a car was cos u liked it, not to impress some bint in a club or anywhere in fact.
Personnally, i like both BMW's and Vauxhalls. But i'd have to go with the VX220 Turbo. Its quicker bottom end, will handle better, will be more fun to drive and is gonna b mental when tuned.
These cars are not in the same catergory anyway. A VX220 is designed to be a fun car/weekend/track day car. A BMW Z4 isn't. Its just like a Z3, meant for everyday boring use.
VX220 gets the from me.
*thinks of bigger turbo, intercooler, Cams, flowed head, pocketed pistons, phase 3 upgrade etc *

I've seen C20LETs running with 350+bhp with no overheating problems.
This isn't a R5GTT It wouldn't suffer from overheating at all.

In the VX 220. Theres loadsa room i thought.
I bigger intercooler can be put anywhere with the £££ which you would need to have to buy a new VX220 T and tune it . 1 small one either side connected by pipes over each air intake

Thats just going to increase lag, this is supposed to be a nible track car. I think the turbo has ruined a good car, it may well be faster in a straight line now but it won't be as responsive.

Not what the reports say dude
Increase lag? Who cares? Track day cars are always quite high up the rev range anyway. Mind u, thats why n/a cars are better on track.
But given between the Z4, Vx220 2.2 16v, or VX220 Turbo, i'll have the turbo. Its just that much faster than the na VX to start with.

Id have to have the VX220 I think.
Theres one I race nearly everday on my way to work, just a naturally aspirated one though. 0-60 its pretty close but after that he starts to go backwards, hes just lacking that turbo and he'd be with me.
Round the twisties though......I dont get a look in. The turbo might upset the handling a bit though. Nothing worse than coming on boost mid corner in a RWD. Makes me smile!

Another thread showing the badge snobbery with the VX. I chose one over an Elise and don't regret it for a second.
As for people going - oh a Vaux wow - umm - most people don't know what it is, so that's not the normal reaction!

Mine wasn't badge snobbery, the elise is a better track car. End of.
I said I would buy it as a toy, therefore not a road car. The elise is a raw as it gets, theres not even servo assisted brakes. You feel like a part of the car.

Totally different class of car. You only need to have sat in a VX220 to see that its a hardcore impratical thing designed with one thing in mind.
As for badge snobbery, I tell girls in the club that I drive an Astra. I don't bore them with the details of how its faster than any Beemer under £35k
