Did you wax up your pedals before using them though...
I've done it a couple of times when I've been in the middle of something else and had to move the car, I much prefer having shoes on but if I needed to drive barefoot all the time I think I'd manage.
Also, John in incorrect statement horror
Pedals are grooved so wouldn't need to be, in the same way as you wouldn't wax a grip mat

Flip flops are possibly even more dangerous than barefoot, not appropriate footwear.
Wearing socks and no shoes is even worse, this is proving my point.

You could easily catch your foot or get a toe stuck or some other really stupid thing that makes a big difference when trying to brake not hit a kid.
I'm shocked anyone is arguing otherwise (apart from Anty).

so you put your shoes on, walk out to the car, take them off to drive then put them back on when you get to where you want to go? i'm not questioning the safety, just why you would do it

I used to leave the house with none on but then I didn't need any on in my job.
Also, wet shoes after sea trials aren't nice and I would hazard at being more of a distraction to driving so I've taken them off for that reason before and then driven for 3hours+ home.
and finally, wear flip flops a lot and easy to just kick them off

Because John said so, mainly.

That and it's the voice of common sense.
Really surprised so many people think it's ok, or have even done it for longer than to move a car.

tried driving bare foot before, doesn't feel right.
a nice trainer with a thin sole is best, you can still feel the pedals but doesn't feel weird.

I have and its full of subjective nonsense.. There are no laws that cover this and I dont see how its any more dangerous to drive with barefeet there should be no sharp objects in your car and unless your brake pedal is very thin I cant see how you cant apply just as much force?

I don't think there's a specific law covering having a shower while driving either.

To be fair I've only ever done it to move my car. It feels weird and I don't like it

John's making a very valid point tbh but at the end of the day it's up to you. I hate driving about with no shirt and a seatbelt on but I see plenty of people doing it when the weather's nice, horses for courses and all that
