not overpriced but top of budget yes... need some thing soon, not having a nice, fast and fun car to drive is killing me.. i cant think of anything to tick more boxes than a 335d at the moment..

tbh i have all the parts pretty much to finish the imp if it came to it but tbh would want the bmw garaged so there lies another problem

Cheaper to insure the saloon as well. Probably more ideal for a family car for you. Perhaps something older wont be overpriced for you John? I don't mind my car is an old 54 plate as I buy cars that are priced within my means.

i didnt say i couldnt afford one?i said it wouldnt leave any cash for the imp which means the imp would probably be broken or sold as a whole.

nic i dont mind 54 plates either but you cant get a 54 plate 335d... i want a 335d not a 330d sorry

whitter i actually prefer the saloons to the coupes but theres a few coupes with circa 75k on ebay and no saloons with similar.

If it goes wrong and it's already right at the top of your budget then you won't be able to afford to fix it. This makes it over priced. It's not just the initial cost it's the running and maintaining costs that people on the Internet seem to overlook. "I can afford to buy a 14k car" isn't the same as I can run it, fuel it, fix it, insure it etc etc.

i could run, insure, fuel and fix it whilst modding it... taking that into account leaves me no money left in my pocket/car money to waste on another car or project... its at the top of my disposable income for some finance budget...

tbf i do very little miles, it would probably be easier and cheaper to buy an m3

You can't compare 2 completely different models ffs

I thought you were comparing the E9x model. The E46 M3 engine is 12 years old now, the 335 engine is what, 4 years old? It's no surprise that with 8 years newer technology that they've made a car with more power really.

I still stand by the fact that it's still no M3, whether that be E46 or E92, if you haven't driven one you really can't understand

10p a litre doesn't match up to over 200 miles more to a tank in a diesel John.

some people just don't have a clue graham.

it's like comparing a really old ferrari with a new one. of course the 30 year old one will be slower, it's technology/bhp output etc are 30 years old.
