Bit of an update of what i have been up to this weekend. Ive been prepping and spraying my gsi bumper. It still needs remasking and a bit more smoke grey paint spraying on then lacquering but its looking ok so far!
You comments/ideas are welcome.

Oh and if I were you I'd cut the tabs where the tow hook goes so that it doesn't crack the paint when it goes back together. it's what I did

Thanx darryl, Ok just make it into one elongated hole instead of two joined by a slit?
Cheers for all the good comments so far! ill try my best to get it on before pvs but that will be entirely weather dependant because in doing it outside!!!

Yeah that's what I did, makes it just slide on, not sure why they didn't do it from factory tbh

Bumpers now ready for lacquer! I need a little advice though, at this point would you now reflat it before lacquering even though the paint has a nice finish? Its just ive got the paint nice and it seems a shame to sand it again before lacquering? I have been told itll make the finished bumper much more shiny though as opposed to a matt finish? Cheers.

Looking good Cal.
If your lacquering bumper tho, that's gonna make it shiny and not go with rest of arches/skirts isn't it?

Yer this is what i was thinking and so i dont think im going to lacquer the black just the grey bits? Ive got the black bits masked off still atm from where i have been spraying grey after the black so im thinking leave that masked and just lacquer the grey?

It's a tough one because if you don't lacquer the black then it'll get chipped etc easily. That's what lacquer does, protects it but you don't want it shiny.
This is the reason i had all lot done gloss black so it would all match.
Irm i'd give it a try though, lacquer the grey bit on bottom and then just leave top.
Will it be done for PVS?

Just clearcoat the grey unless your going to gloss black the rest of the arches. It won't chip of easily if it was prepped properly.

Thanks mate. This is what my first plan was but ill see what happens when im doing it. Would you sand the grey with 1200 before lacquering? We will see how well prepped it was

Use Matt laquer on the black if you're worried, and we normally flatten the base coat before laquer but I know people do it differently

Cheers darryl!!! so would you just give it a quick rub over with some 1200 before i lacquer? I think im going to lacquer everything excluding the top black strip so the black grill will be lacqured. cheers matey. ive gotta decide whether im going to build a tent to do it in . . . . . . .
