I've an iPad 2, the 3 (which is the latest) wasn't enough of an upgrade for me to even consider it it's basically just the better screen but its not like the 2 has a bad screen it's perfectly fine for me

I've found an unwanted competition prize that is an iPad 3rd gen locally on eBay for under the £400 mark. I have asked if they are willing to do a deal outside of eBay.

Galaxy tab2 and note tablet should both be here really soon. Wouldn't be surprised to see a new HTC tablet s well. If your after a user friendly interface then iPad is probably the way to go. Tesco got the non data (wifi only) 16gb at a good price

I looked at the Galaxy Tab 2, it seems Samsung have actually lowered its spec over the Tab 1 and made it a middle of the range tablet. I dont know weather or not this is because they have got something in the pipeline to rival the latest iPad though

Whats the iPads connectivity with TV like? If I want to hook it up to the TV and watch 1080p movies am I going to have any problems? I have read that the iPad will only let you watch certain things

I don't really notice it anymore. Probably would if I went back to an iPad 2 though.

Not sure where you have read that, they put the release on hold to upgrade to a quad core processor. Not many tablets will rival that for spec or even phones for that matter, only the galaxy s3 and the htc one

Going from my iPhone 4 to my iPad 2 is a bit sad face, there is a massive difference between the screens.

I bought a tablet!
I went for the 32gb Asus Transformer pad TF300T and I love it It was a toss up between this and the iPad but this won as it ticked more useability features that I desired. It has a micro HDMI port, bluetooth, micro SD slot which can double the storage up to 64gb overall and the best bit is the keyboard dock which basically transforms the tablet into a netbook with USB and card reader slot. The screen isnt as good as the iPad but I'm not really fussed about that.

How do you find it? My dad has been looking at one for my mum but in comparison to the older transformer prime they seem to suggest build quality is very lacking and screen is average a best.

I have no problems with it at all. My final decision came down to the old transformer prime and the one I bought. I played with them both side by side and I really could not warrant paying £500 for the prime when the essential difference is the prime has a metal finish where as this one has a plastic finish.
Screen and build quality are fine. This screen is a lot brighter than the prime though. Asus have got a new tablet called the Infinity coming out soon which has all the bells and whistles with an ultra HD screen like the iPad 3 and some very powerful CPU performance. Its expected to be about £600 - £700 though
