Not that quick imo test drove over year ago and was very dissaponted in the performance but they do look very smart really like the styling.

Can't comment on 197 but my 182 was fun at any speed. Had so much soul and every ounce of power was useable. It could be driven hard, all day everyday. It had flimsy from but it didn't rattle. It broke once, because of neglect by previous garage and idiotic previous owner, not by design.

VXR is a nice car, but read the reviews and you will see that whilst its not a bad car (well apart from the gearbox! But all cars have their issues) the ST Megane etc all trounce it because they are so much more involving. People on here are as obsessed with racing up hills and getting to work in the two days of snow a year as they are 0-60 times. All in all most of that is junk.

Some cars are fun and involving. Handling well I.e not mechanical grip, but how it responds, how stiff the car car, does it tell you what's going on, is it balanced? Well me personally (doesn't make it right for everyone) would go with the car that is most involving fun.

I think if you treat a car properly and dont push it very often it will do you well. If i had the cash id probably look for other options though

I want either a Corsa or Astra VXR as my next car after my corsa, I know someone who owns the Astra VXR and he loves it.

Either that or maybe a Honda EK

aint that great tbh had one last year 3 gearbox failures in a month and that happened driving at 30mph...
standard there slow tbh wasnt impressed..
once i put fmic and full exhaust system on it opened up felt like a different car
mines was also lowered 30mm on dap-r springs handled really well...
standaard it felt like a boat
oh and mines had only done 28k miles

only thing not replaced on it in that time was the engine block

Utter bargains nowadays - mine is a '57 280PS model with pricey Full Leather & Nav options - cost me £6.5k in October...

Thirsty as fuck mind.

And waaaaaaaay too easy to get to silly speeds too, it just pulls & pulls.

Nope I haven't, wasn't suggesting it was better or worse than your suggestion, just another option. You driven an R56 FJCW?

In what respect is the supercharger superior, genuinely interested. Turbo is way easier to tune, just a remap and you are at 260bhp. The proper R53 Works with the Works only wheels on look nice

Sounds like a bargain if you can live with the running costs

I like the looks of the corsa. My mates got one in silver with anthracite 18s lowered on its ass and it looks amazin. I prefer the Astra tho.
