I dont think i have the money behind me at the mo, but it's a nice offer. Do you run a high street shop, or just online? (or both)

Both mate. Wont be doing it for much longer, had enough. 8 years full time, 12 years in total and I am Romeo done.

The trade in general is on its arse. Personally i see the end of the model shop in 2-3 years so I am getting out before its too late. The profit margins are getting smaller yet the overheads continue to go up.

Also, something you touched on in your OP. Customers. They are a royal pain in the arse. I get bought stuff on a daily basis that wasn't purchased from me, yet they seem to think I should fix it for free/give them the bits they need to repair it for free. Nah. Its normally stuff from companies I haven't ever and won't ever have dealt with. If something bought from me I will back it up all day long, no problem but you get a flow of people all day long asking you to sort out stuff they've bought from China and/or Ebay for nothing. When you say you will fix it but at a fee, they get shitty

I would advise massively against anyone opening a model shop. Sorry.

Seriously. If you could fork out the cost of the laser gear you could set up some rental agreement with owners of venues/wasteland and run it there. All you'd need is a bit of public liability for laser stuff!

Would love to run a arcade like they have in Japan...

Purely out of my geeky enjoyment would love to have rows upon rows of Fighting games and Metal Slug.

Save me a load of money going to London too...

I wouldn't mind running my own water sports type place on some nice beach somewhere. Things like jetskis, banana boats, parasailing ect ect.

Pricking about with boats, getting a tan all day sound ace to me

I'd have my own photography studio.

One big enough to fit cars.

Probably a second hand record store a la High Fidelity. Would be pretty cool, listening to music all day and talking to fellow geeks about deleted singles and rare vinyl/cds etc.

I don't think the digital age will do away with second hand stores.
