How do you mean 'wipe the floor' ?

With similar weight you need + 100 bhp to make a huge difference on the road to 'wipe the floor' with someone.

MPS 260bhp and let's say for arguments sake that a heavy modded VXR is low 300's at best with exhaust, breathing/cooling and remap. Or had you gone way beyond this state of tune?

Then I can't see on road performance being floor wiping

It used to tear him a new arse on every bit of road. Twists and the straights. I was running over 100lbft more torque and over 50bhp more so it was always a done deal. Real world terms is always the tell tale difference tho I agree and even he was surprised just how quick mine was compared to his. And please don't start with the "he can't drive or the car was fucked comments"

My Astra was running just as much power if not more than the stage 3 guys which all mine needed was an aftermarket fmic and map to suit.

That's a load of bollocks. My old golf was £260 for 6 months tax and my mates one, only a few months older with a slightly better spec was the same price for a years tax and it was gutting. It's not about the affordability it's the principle of it. The newer model is a better car that's just as quick if not quicker but falls into the lower tax.

Thinking as in choosing between different models. Finance isn't the issue.
