Can a Corsa C ZLET conversion really be done for £1k?? Always thought these engines alone were about £1500.

Seen a fair few Z20LET's got for £600 on eBay. I'm tempted to have a go after seeing the loom and Ecu on the smaller engines C's doesn't need to be changed either. Just flashed.

I thought you needed the z20 loom just not the ecu. Even at £600 for the engine I reckon you'd be hard pushed to do it for a grand, £1500 is more likely

There are not many 'off the shelf' cars I fancy these days that are sub 15k tbh.

This Z20LET into a C business sounds fairly straight forward.

Jambo let's build one

The key word here is easy. I'd say bolt in, plug and play conversions are classed as easy.

I'll come clean, this is a bit of a business question.

Basically I'm doing a lot of Puma engines to Fiesta owners, really going quite well but Pumas are getting more and more rare and its not enough work.

I need to diversify in to something else but I also have no plan what to go in to. I was hoping to come across something which I can get fairly readily as salvage but which is in demand as a fairly easy swap job which is popular and people are talking about how to do it.

Currently thinking I'm going to get a few ZLETs when they come up although they're a bit expensive even crash damaged because the rest of the cars typically have good parts.

Pug V6 sounds interesting because I'm guessing the rest of the car isn't worth a carrot but its a big heavy shell, that could work quite well.

You have to look at what has a future, and to me - Land rovers are screaming out for this kinda work.

Lots of owners swap and change engines.

What in to what though? Was considering doing a few Discos because I know myself how expensive the parts are but all the salvage goes for loads, there was a Cat B roll over, not a single panel left on it went for £1800, my car is similar age and miles and I paid £1500 as a working car, not sure who is paying too much but they're not the best for business.

I'd imagine the x18xe1's from vectras could be good if they get more popular? Although i don't suppose it'll happen as everyone's still hung up on c20's. While i've been looking there doesn't seem to be many places selling them on ebay and such. I know i'd have one in the future when i get enough cash together and insurance allows.
