I reckon he bought that Xbox360 add on. After all, Blu-Ray is unnecessary as games wont ever need more than 1 disc.

I think the lack of broadcast 3D is not helping.
I presume that 3D BluRays are full HD rather than the scaled down version that Sky etc broadcast?

I think there are only a few examples of 3D blu rays being 720p.
A lot of games, 3D or not, are still 720p though.

The only film I've seen so far that appeals to me in 3D is Toy Story 3
Too many sci-fi films, which I don't like.

Which is also one of the best 3D films made.
Stick with animation, when it comes to 3D. Even the best live action 3D films don't hold a candle to animated features.

Lack of interest has given 3D films a pretty inflated price.

That is one of the best comments I've read on the internet, I laugh every time I see an xbox owner talking about swapping discs

I think I actually said, apart from not needing more than one disc, that downloadable content was the future, and iv been proven right almost in this gen hardware, if its on more than one disc you install it to your device much like you would a download, there's rumours the next consoles won't even ship with a physical media device

No, you said that games would never be big enough to need more than 1 dvd, I remember it well.
Downloadable games weren't part of the discussion at all, it was years ago.

To be fair, I predicted a very minimal succes for blu ray for the exact same reason.
I'm amazed that downloading and streaming has not yet come further than it has.
At the current pace, I think that online content, in the context of technical quality, is still going to be a step behind physical media for quite some time. Unfortunately.

3d ready means it can process 3d pictures
if its an earlier sony you will need the transmitter to send the signal to the glasses
the new versions have a built in transmitter

Yeh I'm thinking about upgrading to a bigger TV anyway, now that I've got the glasses I will consider one of the newer Sony TVs with 3D built in.
