The banging is the suspension bottoming out, too much travel in the shocks....

Sorry, don't know much about bumpstops, but i think u can get stiffer bushes on the rear.....need to remove a lot of shit tho

What r the rubber bits that u get to wrap around springs? Might be bumpstops?

Yeah, I think the fact that I lowered it myself I didnt really know what I was doing I didnt transfer the bump stops over from the standard suspension onto the new suspension so it bottoms out all the time, the back I dont seem to get anwhere near as hard a bang as I do the front.

I think I will just remove the front suspension again and put the standard bump stops in and see how it goes.

i have UPRATED bumpstops, they make the ride a million times worse, trust me. only reason i have put them in is becasue my wheels rubbed like buggery without longer ones. if i could take them out i would.

yeah make sure you put the standard bump stops back on or you will split the dampers. they will explode.

Well if I put the standard bump stops back on then my problem my be sorted.

The shocks may well be fucked but is there any way of actually checking to find out if they are??

The ride height is absolutly perfect, its sits so nice, the look is great, just cant hack the ride quality, really worried something will break.

i doubt they are fucked, i had some that had done 140,000 miles and tehy were still fine, not leaking and the car never bounced on them.
stick your bumpstops back on before you end up bnlowing the shocks.

Right then mateu, thanks again for your help. looks like I have my work cut out when I get home again, 3rd day on the trott. Ah well, hopefully it will be sorted. I can cope with a bumpy ride because the handling and look is amazing, just cant cope with the big bangs.

My fault anyway, took on a job I shouldnt and missed something vitally important.

Yeah I suppose, dont think I could manage to take the suspension off myself though, need my mate to give me a hand, but he is at work and it kinda takes the piss to ask him to help me after work when he has helped for 2 days already.

Dont mean to sound rude but this thread is a month old

Anyway, my problem is now fixed, all is fine and dandy with my 60mm drop. Only thing is my CAT catches on certain speed bumps but I know how to get around it now so I can go over them without damage.

If you can afford it mate go for coil overs, thats what I am going to do on my next car.
