Anyone who compares a beetle to a cayman needs help . The only similarity is that they are both cars. I quite like this, is there any prices on the different models out? The new 911 looks awesome

They are clearly different cars but there are plenty of similarities.

Notu quite what i had in mind.

Plan (hoping) that the newest (currently) 997 c2s's will be within budget in 3/4 years time when the current car is paid. That would do me and i would be 27 so on target!

I'm not the only one with a Porsche @ 30 objective then?

I'm a big fan of the Cayman cars, a colleague had a Cayman S and it was pretty awesome for a poor mans 911 yada yada. He didn't like it when we called it a Boxter with a roof though

I'll be moving next year if all goes to plan, and I'll have a garage to fill with a nice toy car. I was thinking about going the kit car route so I can do some learning and get a hobby out of it - but with the current prices of ~2007 Caymans I think I'll seriously consider a 2010-2011 car in a few years' time.

defo not a poor mans porsche these days, looks awesome

over at Porsche Reading again today to learn about the eletronic measuring system we have to use on doing chassis repairs to these new gen cars

cayman, boxster and 911 all have the same 3 section chassis floor pan (apart from the back section on the 911)

difference is the back section on the 911 that houses the engine and the engine itself (an of course diff bodystyling)

id have any of em' quite happily (although 911 is the best haha)

What the like for jigging? Is it aluminium? I keep seeing a few pop up salvage at what seems reasonable. Only thing that worries me is price of parts ect

These renders always look better than the finished item, I saw my 1st 981 boxster last week and it wasnt as nice as the early pictures led me to believe.

The 991 looks just as good in reality as it did when the first images came out in the web though. We can live in hope as that Cayman is a very good looking car!

If its bent you replace the sections but can't pull push heat up or anything, replace by rivet and glue only anything else is unsafe, probs why you see a few for salvage as the places who come across em don't have the tech or know how to repair em

Thanks to this thread, I am buying 1 in exactly 12 months time

The old shape of course....was looking at an old 911 but for the price of a Cayman, can get a 2006/2007 for around 15k...... are there no seats in the back at all?
