Given the speed at which everything is being remade, it was only a matter of time.
The suit looks a little pathetic on set, but on film it should be much better. If you compare the suit of iron man / batman, they also look naff behind the camera.

I absolutely loved robocop when it came out, this just looks like its going to ruin it, I remember watching robo when I was less than 10 was my favourite at the time

Quite obviously the movie is going to portray the struggle between the machine's ice cold calculating nature and Murphy's human emotions and weaknesses. The human hand symbolises the gap between the two.
Like I said, the trailer reveals every single plot line, which in my experience means that the film will have very little to offer.

I see what you're saying but i dont see how the hand represents that, surely the human brain, showing his face etc, and the relationship between him and his wife would show that struggle better

Notice in the trailer how he switches between shooting with his left and right hand.
Definitely there to show how "despite all, he's still human inside".
Edit: Just rewatched it and in a few scenes he's dual wielding, so that kind of punches a hole in my theory.
