Should i be expecting to find a fixed penalty on my door mat sometime soon?
Never seen a copper getting your speed while driving away from him that's all so a little confused
What was the limit? 30 for a reason, around 37 isnt around 30, or close. If you get done, you deserve it.

And what's the alternative? Condone speeding? Say its ok? Why not go the whole hog and ignore the limits? Sorry but in a 30, 33 or 34 is understandable due to speedo inaccurancies, tyre rolling radius' etc etc, 37 is much nearer 40, therefore shows that the driver isnt paying attention to the speed limit.
Whether people think i'm on my high horse or not, simple fact is if you break the law, you risk the punishment.

And all I said was if he is summonsed, if he was doing 37 in a 30, he deserves to be punished.
I very much doubt he will receive anything, as even a mobile camera operator should make a jusgement that a vehicle is over the posted limit before engaging the camera. If punished, this should easily be in the range suitable for a speed awareness seminar rather than points, alothugh I very much doubt he will receive anything - if he does, it will be a S172 notice.

A s172 notice asking you to ID the driver, and if you were, to complete the form, and if not, to name the driver. Standard procedure.

My advice to anyone who receives a NIP for speeding - contact the 'Road Safety Partnership' if you have no points, see if they will offer a 'Speed Awareness seminar' or similar rather than 3 points. Not a conviction, therefore not declarable for insurance, and no points on licence.

I got gunned by a copper hiding in a street, as I was slowing down to below 30 for a tight bend, stupid place to hide but the local councillor lives there so no wonder. Never heard anything of it, they seem to just publish the results in the local newsletter that gets sent out. Probably got caught by a van the other day though, 57 in a 50 waiting for the letter

Think the letter/NIP has to be sent within 14 days, not received.
As far as I'm aware through both experience and what I've heard over the years, is that cameras etc have the 14 day clause, as you haven't had any NIP given. However, if you are stopped for the offence and given a verbal NIP, then they have 6 months to process the charges etc.
I've been caught by both cameras and pulled over.
Cameras came within 2-3weeks, dated within 14 days of the offence.
One physical stop, laser gunned and then pulled, saw a 5 month delay before the summons
Most recent one was again a physical stop, summons paperwork came around a month later
