Not like a 106 GTi is £6k better than a a 1.1i Zest 2.
Or an EP3 isn't £6k better than a 1.6i Civic Sport.
Exact same scenario. Top spec sports model vs slightly lower spec model. Except im comparing the RS against the next best sports model. So therefor imo, its not £6k better, its the badge you are paying for.
That's like saying the B7 rs4 isn't worth the extra £6k+ over the lower spec S4

No its not, we are talking about 10+ year old hot hatches here.
Try and do what you just done, but with like for like hot hatches.

Is your name Adam? Blue with black wheels? For sale on PH?
I think I saw it on the 24th, around 5ish by the VW dealership in Arnold?

Which model Ibiza? As the one in your avatar is not the same engine as mine.

I have 2 of them. Black one (in my avatar) is a Mk2 2.0 16V petrol. My red one is a Mk4 PD130 sport. Same engine and box as the Fabia VRs, but with slightly longer ratios (although the FR is the same).

Early Fabias had the same ratio I believe, only the later ones got a shorter box.

Selling as a whole, I would want 3.5k.
Spencer, I was under the impression they all had the same ratio box, as the VRS is the same spec as the FR

your justification doesn't really work. They are all completely different cars. Go and find a 106 gti for 6K. Clearly a focus RS is £6k better than a 1.4 focus cl.

No, there are two different boxes fitted to the vRS. Early ones had a longer ratio and later ones shorter.

In my head it works.
Im not saying a 106 GTi is worth £6k. My point is that the hot hatch 106 GTi is better than a 1.1i lower spec model. Its much better, but its not £6k better, which is why they don't go for £6k more than a 1.1i.
Exact same scenario as the Focus RS. Except i have went as far as the next best hot hatch in the Mk1 Focus model range, the ST170. Which can be had for £6k less give or take. But what makes the RS £6k better?? IMO its not. Yes it will be better than the ST170, but i can't see how its £6k better.
Its the same with pretty much all hot hatches from that era give or take. Clio 182 etc. Yes they are much better than a 1.2 16v Dynamique, but they aren't £6k better.
Which then brings me right back to my original opinion, you are paying for the RS badge. Its not a bad thing, its just the way the RS scene has worked over the years. Ford RS's will always command a premium over the equivalent rivals.
