Dam you For reasons i'm not entirely sure of Imprezas have dropped into my 'could justify the insurance' bracket.

So come on, sell it to me. Why should i buy a Scooby (not that it would take much convincing)?

Jealous !!!

Looks very tidy, STI badges back on the fog covers and pink badge for the grill job done

Always wish I bought a silver one, makes them look more modern IMO.

Patches could be over spray from previous repairs. Hard to tell with out seeing.

If it is localised blow ins from a smart (shit) repairer then it may polish up a bit but don't wana pull back the edge to much.

Also on the other side it could be a smart repair that doesn't need it. See so many cars that have been touched up or smart repaired and they don't need it. Just a small flat and polish. Hard to tell though with out seeing.

Looks nice but sod that mpg.

I may pop down to the bodyshop which blew in some parts on my Civic for me. They did a cracking job with that, so can at least ask their opinion.

I've had a look at the car in sunlight today and I think I'm panicking over nothing to be honest You really can't see anything wrong on any of the panels.

I've had a fellow-amateur backyard detailer run his hands over my body and he reckons it's overspray from something, possibly a repair which I've not even noticed/found yet.

I also did some googling and found a detailing company a few minutes away, so might take it to them to look at and ask their opinion. I'll throw a few hundred quid at it for a quality detail if needed.

Well done, million times better than a civic.

As said, sticker back on fog covers or even better stick fogs in there, looks better imo. STI sticker on side of doors looks like it's in a silly position too, I'd take that off. Otherwise, pretty nice, not an overly common colour like the blue is.

Cheers Brett, I'm not sure if the side stickers are standard or not - I didn't really think about it.

Either way, looks like they've been scrubbed a bit hard with the old garage jetwash brush so they need replacing anyway.

I'm such an anal bastard

I saw a Blob with fogs in the other day actually, but I'm not sure if I liked it.

I just thought those side ones looked weird being sat immediately below the crease in the door tbh Don't think they are standard, had diff ones on mine iirc, however it could just be the picture.

Front fogs is personal preference I guess, but I thought they were much more useful than covers that did nothing.

Not a great pic but..

Can't argue with them being more useful to be fair.

I've not actually popped my covers off yet, are the inserts colour coded from factory or is it just a gaping hole and you need to buy fogs and the surround part?

Buggered if I can remember tbh, was around 7yrs ago when I had mine. Don't think it's difficult, however I can't recall if you need to buy the switch too? Can probs tell by looking at the controls in your car.

I bought it private, similar cars from "speacialists" were about a grand more expensive and the ones I looked at were all high milers and scruffy as hell.

They're selling for peanuts privately, this one was £8k but I think he could have got 9 for it.

My opinion still counts so shh.

Must say I prefer this over the Civic you had. I notice you've got the same interior as "Mr.Clean" and although I wasn't liking it much on his, I must say it looks alright in yours. Personally I'd add the bits back on that he has removed because as you said it looks a bit bland. You keeping the plate as it is aswell? You only need 1 arsehole of a copper to say it's illegal spacing/what are you trying to spell? etc etc.

I had a copper that done me for the below (although it wasn't done on purpose, it came from halfrauds like it (how was I supposed to know ( ) ).

Overall Nice Car.

Cheers Nathy, I'll be honest when I'd seen pics of the STI interior before seeing it in the flesh I thought it was horrible - but it looks/feels quality in the flesh.

I was going to get the plate replaced this weekend, I don't have the V5 through yet and I'm guessing I'll need it(?) Saying that, I want a shorter plate for the front so it fits on the bracket with minimal overhang on the bracket - and the only way to do that legally is to get a 6 or 5 digit private plate.

I'm thinking: K70 WND

(K Townend)

Is "baller" a good thing?

I'm not sure I want to take your advice on making it go faster - otherwise it might end up in a barn with no engine

Yeah enjoying it loads, I'm finding excuses to go the long way home which I haven't done since first buying the CTR. Only had a tranny van trying to race me so far, it was close

I've got a wee job list for Saturday - before replacing the headlight clusters I'm going to take them off the car, open them up, dry them out and then reseal them - see if that improves things. They're literally dripping on the inside

I've got a few bits and bobs on order - nothing spectacular, just floor mats and some stickers. Won't be fitting the stickers until I get that cover painted anyway.

I found a site in the US which sells individual (painted) covers for $60, but with about $50 postage. I can only find a pair in the UK for £160, so if you know of anywhere which would sell a painted individual... point me in the right direction, will save me driving around without one while it's in the paint shop!

Yea sounds like someone detangoed them but did not reseal them back up properly, you can put them in the oven to heat them up and pry them apart to re-seal (with more sealant if required) or use a hot air gun (loads of tutorials on scoobynet and i am too scared to do it myself)

keep looking around for the fog light covers, someone was breaking a blob eye last week and selling a pair of blue ones for 50 quid which i thought was cheap, unfortunately silver ones come up once in a blue moon! so either wait around or you may just have to fork out (or buy blue ones and get painted again)
