I do know the Mk4 Astra uses a different loom to the Vectra, but what about the Mk3 Astra, Cavalier, Calibra etc, as they too came with the X20XEV fitted.

Being my brother he asked me to repair it for him, but after looking at it I walked away. Only 50% of the loom has connectors and the ones that don't have been chopped so far back into the loom I deemed it past economical repair. The reason it has to be an Astra MK4 loom is only the MK4 loom (as far as I know) ran the ECU in the engine bay. He could buy a Vectra/Cav/Cali loom but he'd also need the ecu, transponder and chip. Not to mention the total re-wire as to the way the previous owner did the wiring conversion. Also to note, the Z20LET loom won't work as it's got fly by wire throttle so the loom is different again.

why do you have to have an astra x20xev loom? what car is the engine in now and is is an x20xer? why not get stand alone ecu and loom? do you not have the ecu plug for the xer? i have a cav loom and ecu, key chips and transponder.

read what my brother olsrey said. ONLY the astra ran the ECU in the engine bay (as far as we know) and to change the loom,ECU ect would be a fucking nightmare!
stand alone to me is not worth the money it would cost me

in a corsa.there is way to much wireing to change back to use a vectra one hence why i need a astra one.
