I would say that your lack of argument and ability to back up your point proves Russ right.

What facts are these, Steve? Can't say that every game he's played this year has been with perfect conditions against shite opponents? He is a god in football, plain and simple. Ronaldo is a fantastic player but he isn't in the same league as Messi.

My argument was the spanish league is easier, hence the over inflated stats.
My wiki stats showed how Ronaldo started scoring massively more goals in the La Liga than when he was in the premiership. It may be just coincidence that he was naturally progessing blah blah, or it could be the league is easier to score in
The premiership imo, especially recently is far more diluted in terms of talent, and that Messi, albeit is a fantastic player, would be less fantastic in the premiership. Look how Barcelona struggle to score when the pitch and conditions are sub perfect. Games in the CL last season in Italy etc highlighted this.

He would do perfectly fine, same as he does in Russia and everywhere else that is freezing and the opponents sit 10 men behind the ball.
Proper old school criticism that

Like against milan, where he couldnt score and they blamed the pitch..adn against celtic where they lost..sure there are many more examples too....a wet stamford bridge for eg.

You're using last year as a reason? So players can't develop? He scored against Celtic when they lost too? He's played, and scored in freezing temperatures on an artificial pitch in Russia? He holds the record for the most goals scored in a CL game? 5 CL games, 5 CL goals in this season so far

Until Messi proves himself elsewhere in a different league il remain on the fence about him, not very likely as he doesnt need to
Whats to say if you put Van Persie in that Barcelona side he wouldnt score as many goals?

He might? Top players have went there (Henry, Ibra) and still not outshone Messi. There will be lovers, and haters of the boy. But the facts don't lie, he is the best player in the world bar none.

Messi is amazing and i prefer him over ronaldo as well but i think steve may have a point.
Barcas style of play is like no other team in the world and it fits perfectly with messi's style. Dont get me wrong he is quick and he can control the ball in a box full of defenders and still manage to create space to shoot/score but i dont think he will do as well at a team who use the wings more often and have less ball possesion.
Hes playing for the best team in the world imo and arguably the best league. I dont see why he would want to move to a colder country with shitter teams.

How many did Ronaldo score against Levante? Was it more than 2? I shall make my decision based on this

Rather randomly someone just retweeted this on my twitter feed
Lionel Messi has scored more goals (82) in 2012 than Liverpool (71). Via @IndexFootball

So, Luis Suarez = Messi x Infinity + Ronaldo x 2
We're getting there.
But then that doesnt take into account Ronaldo v Chelsea. Oh this is getting complicated.
Going to have to break out BODMAS here.
