If you're out on a Thursday night I would've thought the student area would be better.

Deansgate locks is dump, full of pretentious arseholes (Whittie excluded) northern quarter is decent, bit more laid back. Few places to go in spinningfields. Manchester can be hard work when you have no idea where to go coz it's so spread out.

Go to the new Chop House on Albert Sq, for no other reason than I did most of the joinery! Although it does look a nice place and the manager is one of the fittest women I've ever seen.
You'll probably struggle to get in some places if you are in a big group so have that in mind too.

I was going to say sankeys but then I suppose it depends what you are into and what night is on, same for sound control they have decent live acts/djs etc on, again it depends what night is on etc and what you are into.
