As for the mount in a diesel, mine was bad for vibration but when altering my idle on vagcom it seemed to idle lower than others (ever so slightly) as soon as u touched the throttle and brought it off idle any vibration disappeared.

The R32 was on my list when I was going to spend more but as you say it wouldn't crack more than 20 around town in terms of performance that's shocking.

Great car to drive though, thought I would find it gutless performance wise coming from a mapped tdi but power delivery is good and noise is great. Luckily I dont have to do much miles. Havent really had any plays with anything else to compare it on the road with power / acceleration

It's all about there road presence for me, they look best in pearl blue as you say if mileage and MPG aren't a problem they are a good grown up kind of car.

A DSG Mk5 would be a nice runaround

Can you tell me what size that badge is please.

I know the ones I was looking at all had 100k+ on them. It's in amazing condition which I'm going to keep it in

Just measured the badge mate and it's 90mm. Not actually sure if its too big TBH without looking tomorrow but been told if you snap off the lugs you just bond it on.

Yeah hope you keep on top of that. All standard?

Okay cool. Been looking at the new badges for mine, was just unsure if they'd 'fit'.

Will probably get the modding bug but I'd keep all that standard bits. I meant more keeping it mint bodywork wise etc

If I don't decide to fit my badge you can have it for £10 posted?

Been in the same situation as you kind of.

Ive got a black VRS with 64k on it! But was considering selling up and going back to either a run around or a Clio 182!

Decision i came to was keep the VRS, re map, ARB's and was thinking of the H&R's!

The car is such a car for the buck!

You got any side on pics to show how much the h&r's drop it? they say 20mm, ive been thinking about them but swaying to weitec coilovers to go just a tad lower!

Seriously??

Well I think it's dropped quite a bit to be fair! I'd say 40mm but it could always do with being a bit lower.

I've been looking at AP coilovers for £400. The ride is slightly harsh at then moment but I'm putting that down to worn ish shocks and maybe the poly mount.

When I move the cars around tomorrow I'll get a good side on and arch pic for you mate no problem

Also I'm thinking the DMF is due a change and I'll uprate the clutch at the same time.

I've got this link for a kit that includes a single mass G60 flywheel and a VR6 clutch for £300. Just have to arrange fitting then

Yeah seriously, weird hey!

Theres loads of guys on briskoda that ive been asking about coilovers etc.

If i go down the route it will be weitecs i think as about £450, although heard good things about APs on different cars!

Cheers will look out for the pic

I think AP are basically Weitecs under a diff. name so I've heard? Think there all much of a muchness unless you spend £1000+

Do coilovers have a very harsh ride? Can't remember the last time I was in a car with them fitted

Who did your remap? I really wish I lived near R tech as there attention to knowing the cars is amazing. The Revo select seems fine though, nice and progressive.

I had 2nd hand AP's on the ibiza and it was a better ride than the crashy standard suspension. Back was as far down as it would go with adjusters in and front still had 25mm of thread left (maybe even more, i set it at a rough height and turned out to be perfect so left it)
Steve has also run APs and reccomends them as one of the better budgets I think? Bet this will open a can of worms again

My dad had one of these a few years back. It was standard but its alot of car/power for the money. I like the look of the new shape also.

Loads of coilovers seem to share parts or be made in the same factory etc, £1000+ its got to be KW3s but upto £500 there are a few options! Not sure if i will do it just yet! Dont want to spoil the ride!

Car was previously re mapped by rs tuning, but was taken off before i bought it So looking into it again, hopefully its still on file and can be sorted easily, but R Tech do seem the ones to go to for a custom to your car map or generic Shark seems to be popular! If its alright as it is then save the £200+ and get a RARB and braces!

Thanks Col you any closer to a new car yet mate?

R Tech do a really thorough check over of the car before they even attempt a remap, and there really cheap!

Just missed out on a set of 18 inch TT speed lines on EBay wanted to spray them gloss black

Nah, not even thought about it. Moving house is taking priority over a car.

With them making them from 2001 to 2006 the prices are all over the shop. I feel I've paid top dollar for this example but she's worth it

I've got one too

Just finished an APR trial map, extra power was lovely but I've got all the bits I need to go to Stage 2 now, going to book it in after Christmas at R-Tech!

Not the prettiest of cars but a hell of a lot of car for the money!
