Just noticed the one you ordered is SSD Whittie. Bit more than I wanted to spend though. I'll have to do a bit more research.
Whats your budget? I was initially looking at £500, ended up spending in total just under £600. Not bad considering it's still in shops for £900!
Well I was originally looking at MacBook Pros , but decided it was a complete waste of money, so I'm just thinking about a cheap laptop. I'm not going to do anything intensive, but I want something that is lightning quick for everyday use (hence the SSD). Don't want to spend more than £500 as I'll only use it for word processing, watching the occasional film and browsing the internet.

I also don't need a lot of disk space, I have a 1TB NAS for video files which is only about 25% full.

Woo, its just come. In work though, has yours come Joel?
Not yet mate! Think it's estimated for the 8th. Still part of me wishing that I sided with the Dell. Anythings gotta be an improvement on my dual core Vista Vaio with numerous missing keys though
Which did you go for in the end then? The Dell on offer? I hope I don't regret not going for that one! I have a Vaio at the minute too! They're expensive for what they are now!
Yeah the 15z Ultrabook, i'll let you know how it is once it arrives. Think you got the better deal but I didn't want to spend much more money out when my original budget was £400! It's served me well to be fair, think it's just over 5 years old now, still runs day to day tasks fine.

Do they sell them anywhere on the high street where I could go and see one?
I was hoping for a slightly bigger screen laptop. Getting a bit fussy now

That one hasn't got an SSD.
Usually not too hard to change, though.

Dunno yet, still in its box
I used it months ago and thought it was PAP, didn't give it a chance at all, barely a week before re-installing W7. Will leave 8 on this.

Not yet, took it out of the box and charged it last night though. It's so thin, build of it feels awesome!

It's only got a 128GB SSD and 4GB of RAM, but the rest looks good?

Must admit i'd stay away from Acer. When I was a tech ( more software based now rather than hardware which is why I struggled with laptop comparisons ) I used to see a lot of Acers. That may of improved though as this was back in the Vista days.

My MacBook Pro looks so much like that laptop. Apple have clearly copied Acer's designs, the bastards!

Seems decent
How did you come to that price? Quidco is only 10% isn't it? I worked it out to come to about £525 after discounts.

649 - 15% voucher code = 551
551 - 20% [HP VAT] = 440.8 (The price you get cachback on is pre vat)
440.8 - 10% [Quidco Cashback]= 396.72
396.72 + 20% [HP VAT] = £476
You pay £551 on HP site, and will get cashback back, have I done it wrong somewhere?
