There's a good sticky thread on Detailing World about supermarket bargains/cheap products that work as well as the proper stuff.

When using the snow foam stuff, does it have to be used with warm water or can it be cold???

I use quite warm water mate. Make sure you clean the bottle out 100% after use then run a full bottle of clean water through the lance before putting it away. Also whilst doing it adjust the dial around and open and close the nozzle.

I've only ever tried two brands, I get 5l at a time.

First 5l bottle was Bilt Hamber stuff, worked fine and after about 7mins of dwell time it was pretty much all on the floor.

I'm now on some ValetPro PH Neutral stuff, and it foams up SO much more. I can leave it on the car for 15-20mins and it still needs blasting off with the pressure washer. After I've finished cleaning the car, there is snow on my drive for 18hours

They both have a very similar effect though, maybe the ValetPro just nicks it but it's certainly not a night/day difference.

This is a bit of a worry now as I won't/can't use warm water. Is cold water ok and will it foam up and work just as well???

I'm sure the instructions said (for my foam lance) that I should use cold water from the PW and simply topup the lance bottle with warm water.

I've used it with warm and cold water before, never seen a difference.

Probably just a label

I don't think there are any "bad" choices in Snowfoam if you just grab something from a detailing shop rather than Halfords' more generic stuff designed for those shampoo bottle attachments.

You don't have access to a hot tap?? all you do is add approx an inch of SF in the bottle then top up with warm water not use warm water through the karcher etc.

Also don't buy 'Super Snow Foam' I got this when I originally bought my Autobrite lance and it's crap. Magifoam has always worked for me although I've heard good things about Valet Pro Neutral Foam so that would be a good choice.

Did you get a 'Car Wash' brush with your Karcher? It's well handy for cleaning the face of your alloys along with the EZ brush I posted the link too.

I thought the washer had to be used by a hot water feed lol. Its the Nikfisk washer I bought.

I don't have the brushes but there's goin to be a good group buy on DW for them very shortly so gonna keep my eye on it.

I just need to know what kind of connector I need to buy with the snow foam deal in that link.

It should just let you pick a Nikfisk one mate, it's just a drop down menu when ordering and they have a few makes in there. What model did you get?

Would recommend i4detailing, cheaper and free postage when you spend over £50 to all of the UK including all off shore islands. Fast delivery, ordered late Saturday night arrived in NI on Tuesday.

2.5? Do you mean a 3.5? Can't seem to find the 2.5.

Foam lances can be quite sensitive to preassure ie they don't foam as much so a decent washer is better. I was lucky I got a Karcher 3.55 for £130 inc delivery from Amazon Black Friday...BUT I lent my foam lance to a mate and he never washed it out so I need to strip and clean it

That's same as mine eck, can't remember which foam lance adaptor I got though

A great addition to those nilfisk units is a 10m hose, allows you to walk right round the car without moving the PW so stops risking damage to the connectors.
