Not that complicated, the sales force are told to sell certain cars, packages and finance deals.

I went to Toyota last week and was getting a top of the range car, worth 4 grand more than base model, for £50 less a month over the same period. Purely because they have them in stock, are being told to sell them and can offer 0% APR on them.

Car dealerships are peculiar places full of peculiar people.

not really. depends if you pay outright, finance, pcp etc.

deals on the new shape fiesta 1.25 zetec 3 dr are:

£119 deposit
£119 a month for 24 months

bargain.

So that would mean get brand new car for 3k approx..

no it wouldn't. you pay a balloon payment at the end of agreement, trade the car in for another new one or give the car back and walk away.

but then you need to save the credit arrangement fee in order that that to be effective, that can be £500 on its own, my last one was £300, so could negate the above in some cases.

Hand over the 12k and pay the rest on finance over a year would be an option.

No chance getting that off, think we would be lucky to get that on our fleet terms at work.

Like others have said, it depends on the dealer. Dealer get a volume bonus margin from the manufacturer meaning the can give all the above the line profit/margin away and make no money and the customer is happy. Depending on there volume bonus and numbers they have done, they'd still make £900+ plus easily before extras and potential finance commissions.

I dont mind it actually, very few new cars i like but like that.

1.2 tsi, 100 quid a year tax, £218 p/m for the finance. 500 odd quid for her to insure and she only has 18months NCB

Sounds like you got her a good deal. It does look smart too. Have you driven it or one like it? Not driven one of these small relatively high powered engines yet

Although we got all that money off, i was still pissed off because he seemed very happy about it all. In the back of my mind I wanted more off until he was angry.

I wanted him to be crying about the fact they sold a car so cheap.
