Good call Robin Giant make some lovely stuff.

Mate of mine who is a confirmed GT nutter has recently finished building his own bespoke carbon/titanium hybrid Anthem. Chris King headset, etc etc etc, the works.

Cost him roughly £3.5K (the bloody pedals were a hundred quid alone) and took him about a year, but he sourced everything himself to his own spec and taste and did everything himself too. So pro rata it's actually a bit of a bargain.

It's quite, QUITE lovely. And for him it's practically the perfect bike.

The funny thing is, when I look at it, stood next to his freshly restored, freshly polished, fifteen year old Zaskar LE on uber rare, brand spanking 'new old stock', green Michelin tires, for me, the GT actually looks even more awesome somehow.

It's SO pretty in the sunshine. It really captures something for me. I do love Giant stuff too though.

I think my next bike will be an 'off the peg' Anthem from a previous year's stock from whoever does it cheapest.
