whaen i worked for the AA you used to have to submit a written request to grow a beard if you didnt have one when hired and it was down to your area manager to decide if you could or not.

i started with a beard so didnt affect me but thought it was a bit of a bullshit rule

this is purely so people dont just not bother shaving for days/weeks and use growing a beard as an excuse

i wonder whether someone would take a company to court if sacked due to growing a beard, stating it's his human right to grow one?

You see I generally always have some stuble on the go but it takes longer to trim with clippers (and tidy up with wet shave) than it would to just wet shave the whole thing off. I look fatter and younger with no stuble. My work are fine with it, even when i go and see clients so long as it's not like 3 or 4 days worth of untidy stuble.

If my boss sacked me for growing a beard I'd be amazed.

I'm never clean shaven. Always have a controlled stubble.
Did at my interview too. And my wedding, for that matter.

I reackon I look more professional with stumble than clean shaven as I'd look 12 if I didn't have it lol.

I'd have thought with all that stumbling about the place, you would appear to be drunk and consequently less professional Matt.

Btw, I would hire you as Chief Editor at 'The Chap'.

You'll need to refine your pipe smoking technique though.

That beard is a little "homeless"
Too patchy and not very groomed looking.

Trim it so it's a uniform length and it's an even shape on both sides.

Trim it. My work dont like the unkept stubble stage. I was off for 10 days grew one, went back and was told i could keep it. Trim it once a week now as i hate shaving.
