The people asking her out from work would've been lower class 'peasants' - she probably socialises in places where she expects to meet royalty

I'm not convinced it's genuine; i think there's a lot of playing up to appear to be 'posher' than she actually is. Tbf, it's the mail so it's all likely made up bollocks anyway

You think her parents can happily shell out that sort of money and they're not an upper class family?

Money isn't directly connected to class and the article states the money was inherited from her grandparents/grandfather but doesn't go into further details - so who knows what the situation is there.

London is full of these pricks. They're real... they're just not tuned into reality.
Loads of families where the grandparents had fortunes / land / estates - the parents therefore grew up in luxury and now the kids are growing up in it too.
The only difference is in their parents day there was far less consumer / glam culture that there is today.
I live in a rented place at the moment that backs onto this private garden (maintained wall garden with a tennis court etc) that is shared with this property, Gordon Ramsay's, Johnny Vaughan and a couple of others. Everywhere you look there's a toff that is spending inherited fortunes.
I have no gripe against Ramsay or Johnny, they earnt their money... These spoilt toffs however, they're clueless to the real world and just look down on 'normal people' as being sub human, like everyone is their servant.

by now though their parents will have spent a fair bit, it'll run out eventually.

Not necessarily... depends what they invested the money into... generally the rich get richer. I think there's a statistic that the top 1% (richest people) took home 93% of the money made last year. This means the other 99% of people (including us) all shared only the other remaining 7% of wealth generated!
For example, let's say the family owned the property I live in at the moment. It's an old mansion split into 6 flats. The rent for our flat is £2360 a month... that's £14k / month for the property and £170,000 a year in rental returns!
That's just one property. If a wealthy family owned a whole estate or a number of properties along those lines, their income yearly from the land / rent / etc could be a lot, for doing absolutely nothing. A wise family in that situation would then buy more properties and rent them out too, thus increasing their yearly returns.
This is partially the reason rent in London is so expensive and disproportional to the average salary a Londoner earns, because the rich keep buying the property and renting them to the 'average people'.
A small 1 bedroom flat around here costs £350,000 for something small / basic. Even people I know in London earning really good money struggle to buy in London. The whole cycle forces house prices up, which in turn forces rent higher and keeps the rich getting richer and the poor / average people on the bottom.

I watched one episode of that god-awful Made in Chelsea and looked into the backgrounds of those in the show. One appears to do absolutly nothing and it transpires that his wealth is from the McVities Biscuits empire to which he is the sole heir; further strenghtening what Paul says above - the money comes from sources which aren't going to dry up over night. The only episode I've watched had this specific person staying in a hotel between living in a house at a cost of £2500 a night. He's not earned a penny of that money, he's just sitting back and reaping the rewards of other's graft.

Interesting quote
"‘All of our family have their money in a private bank and when I go over my allowance, I am called in to meet Frank, whom I used to try to charm initially but now that tactic doesn’t work.
‘On one occasion I was in Cheltenham and I went to get money out of the bank but my card wouldn’t work. So I rang Frank and he said I wasn’t getting any more money and that I would have to find another way home.’"

I kid you not, I was on the train the other day with some people who were from Chelsea and overheard their conversation where one of them was bitching to the other one about the fact the credit card their dad had given them had only a £20,000 monthly limit

Didn't say they weren't
But money doesn't bring class and similarly class doesn't always mean they're shitting money (met and know both types)
Still, i don't think this Laura is completely genuine and i believe she's playing up to upper-class image. And tbf i'm not overly convinced this story is legit either; as pointed out, it reeks of a rehash of the Samantha Brick saga (it is the Mail after all).
