After I finished on the TT I continued where I had left off machine polishing, removed the number plates (which took a while due to the worlds rustiest screws!) and got to it.

Semi debadged the rear as..

1. The badge fell off!
2. I always had just the gsi badge on my old one..

Some pics

Next step is to go over it again to refine it with the polishing pad, then polish / wax it

Got a new set of plates on the way and a set of springs to go on

Decided to get it lowered today, failed miserably

This was about as far as I got.

Not a single bolt wants to come undone and when I get my crack bar on them they seem to be in danger of rounding rather than actually shifting

Going to give them another soak in WD40 over the next few days then try again.

Very tempted to buy myself an Impact gun for jobs like this, got to be easier than the old manual ratchet!

Got cracking with this again today, washed the car first thing then ran over it with the polishing pad to refine the cutting I did a few weeks ago.

Once that was done, gave it a decent coat of Collinite 476s to hopefully lock the shine in for a while

Last job was to give the engine bay a quick once over (I mean quick, spent five minutes with some super degreaser and the jet wash, will do properly one day!)

Hopefully lowering work will resume later this week.

Sadly I only have the one wheel as it's all I have left from my deceased GSi

Oh, and a single floor mat

Had to put it on as the tyre on the 14 is goosed and won't hold air

After having a good poke underneath it seems chassis legs, rear archs and a small hole in the boot floor.

I would say no worse than my old GSi was five years ago...actually that was worse as the roof had gone and it was leaking through the front screen.

Either way I'm loving it and can' wait until next year
