Makes me laugh though because the law states that you can have sex at the age of 16 but not watch porn at the age of 18 where's the logic in that ? And it doesn't matter anyway coz half the kids nowadays have children themselves

I feel sorry for teenagers living with parents that pay the bill.

They will never know what it is to enjoy porn on the internet

Seems like a decent enough idea. I'll have no problem telling the lovely sounding scotch bird from sky I wish to watch porn.

This is actually the most ridiculous thing in the world.

There are perfectly good filtering programs available for parents who would like to restrict access.

If I were a parent I would probably do this, because I am sensible and capable of looking after my own family.

Why do we need a complete block which will, inevitably, be got around by teens who can't be bothered to look, but blocks adults.

Pissing government.

Probably some scandal about something/someone important just about to come out so they've just thought this up to get some media attention.

Politicians shouldn't be allowed to make any decisions on technology. Even the 'expert' advisers they normally have seem to be clueless.

my only hope for the young is that their dad's want a cheeky gander too now and then and opt in. If not, that's some tough shit right there, can't even look at pr0n on your mobiles data connection without opting in either. They may tax more, cut public spending and support an army of dole-ys but come on, don't take away the porn! It's the only thing keeping teenage boys even slightly occupied crime rates will soar, especially from corner shop top shelves

i think we might owe it to our fallen brethren to host an unguarded SSID for porn browsing. If we get enough people to join in we could have a country wide porn accessing network

No, you see, it is for new customers only.

Existing customers have to opt in for the filter.

Might stick around living at home for a while

Not what I read. I thought it was everyone, And then you have to opt in. If you don't respond then you automaticly can't see anything.

When it says "will be applied" I think it means the rules.

Everything I've read and heard, eludes to that existing customers will be contacted to see if they want the filter.

Bugger.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23401076

quote:

And millions of existing computer users would be contacted by their internet providers and told they must decide whether to use or not use "family-friendly filters" to restrict adult material.

The filters would apply to all devices linked to the affected home Wi-Fi network and across the public Wi-Fi network "wherever children are likely to be present".

Customers who do not click on either option - accepting or declining - will have filters activated by default, Tory MP Claire Perry, Mr Cameron's adviser on the sexualisation and commercialisation of childhood, told the BBC.

Phone data usage is going to go through the roof
