New GTi is brilliant, drove the GTD (184) also but was still tight didn't impress.

R will be excellent!

New cars are boring in general. The interiors are bland, and the way that the brands try and make all their cars look the same across the range is cack.

They can put some numbers on paper, but being in them - they are pretty boring and don't 'feel' fast. Shame really.

That is complete bollocks.

10years ago we did not have the Mini, Beetle, 500, SLK, ds3 etc all of which have cabins that are creative, exciting, stylish and interesting. What is that compared to of older cars?!

I sit in 85% of most new cars as I attend the motors how's as part of my job, whilst there is no carte Blanche approach because there are obviously some hum dingers on sale. But how you could even possibly think interiors have got worse is absolutely baffling.

Especially when you drive an older Japanese car, interiors in them are terrible.

My boxster/996 shape 911's are pretty poor also, interior in the 997 was far superior and it's again improved in 981.

Since this is actually corsasport, I'd forgotten about the corsa b. Interior is terrible. Although the c is now also dated, it was a massive improvement.

As someone who doesn't sit in that many new cars I'm pleasantly surprised how nice the interiors are on even the cheaper/smaller/Far East cars.

Just look at how much the Corsa has improved inside over the years.

My fiancé has a new Clio III which has better soft touch plastics in it that a lot of cars that are £5k plus more expensive. Compared to my 182 the difference is like 20years in terms of design and tech.

Looks boring and I reckon it will be boring to drive. Best to get a seat or a vauxhall because they are exciting drivers cars. Or is it because they are cheap. I forget.

1998 Clio Dash:

2008 Clio Dash

That's just a run of the mill cheap and cheerful hatch. If you think the older one is better, you clearly need to seek help.

Not sure what a dash vent has to do with the exterior of a car looking plain or am I missing something?

Don't like the newest Golf - too ordinary & clinical looking.

So the Golf... Wheels are awful, absolutely awful. Lot of money too considering the M135i price tag.

It looks nice but I think their pricing is a joke. Same with last golf r . Far better motors for the money

Let's be honest it may be quick but it's going to cost a small fortune, certaintly too much for a Golf.

That and it has the 1:1 cylinder to tail pipe ratio, never a good way to go.

Tbh older cars do generally tend to have quite plain interiors compared to modern cars, a lot of old citroens are pretty cool though:

Modern cars have too many buttons imo focus should be on driving. No wonder people are so distracted and slow these days.

Too busy looking for a button to switch car into racing mode.

Agreed. Focus is terrible for that. It's very distracting to drive.

Mine on the other hand is rather spartan. Bloke in work said he doesn't like it as it's far too plain. Thats the point!!!

The more buttons the better imo.
