If you put decent bulbs in you will probably find this mysterious problem would be solved.

Ok first thoughts, wish I'd bought the Philips don't seem quite as bright as I'd of liked, next to a standard one it looks no different.
Will see what there like on way to work tonight, might order the Philips tomorrow if these are no good as they seem loads brighter in previous pics posted on here by others

I'll get some when I leave later, in fairness my headlights are covered in some shitty sticky stuff, think the previous owner had some chavy film on. So got some headlight cleaner and sanding paper ect and that's made a difference. Only done a small area so will do the rest tomorrow then see what there like.
Still think ill end up with the Philips

Yeah I fairness mine did to but one popped and that's the 2nd time it's happened and couldn't be bothered with them so wanted to get some normal decent bulbs. Don't think any will be as good as HID's but I can live with that.

Are they something funky, wattage or designwise, or just a really efficient, standard fitment bulb?
Has everyone had good experiences with them?
Are they dear?

Well I don't rate them as any better then my previous wilkinsons specials
The main improvement for me is now I've cleaned the lenses of the residue the actual bulbs are no different.
Will order those Philips ones and see what there like.
