Im going to strip them down and clean them up etc as they aren't as good as i would have thought they should be.

Also, while having another look through the service history etc, i noticed the 1st owner was Dave Dempsey (some might know him from having around 5 TV feature cars).

So done a bit of digging over on Migweb and found out some stuff, what's been done to the engine (3.0 cams etc) and also found out it was a TV feature car back in 2003 pretty much as it sits (brakes, wheels etc).

had it for about 3 years before i got a BMW. Really liked it apart from the fuel economy.

Indeed Sir. Those 6 pots are hella juicy, as the septics would say.

It's the only real downside with my Merc and my Rover too. They drink like dole scroungers

Nic, what BM do you have Sir and when did you acquire it?

Does the wee grey beastie still get an airing, or has she been consigned to the garage?

330d e46. Corsa is a bike stand since march, would rather be on a mountain bike than drive a car these days. Pretty sure I've biked over 2000 miles this year yet put about 1400 on my car.

Bloody hell Nic. That's some bike mileage Squire! Not ridden mine since I f*cked my back

Great minds and all that. My RS is now a cupboard

I take it the BM is just something decent, comfy and economical for every day use?

I loved my old black phase two gsi. Done me well for the first 6-7 months i had it then it went down hill and never ran properly. Which is why i bought the corsa. Got bored of poor mpg, but my god the noise was bloody addictive with a big cone filter. Would have another if i wasent bothered about high tax and low mpg. Most comfortable car ive owned i think.

Surprisingly still have this with no desire to get rid. Have removed some bits and changed a few things but it mostly still looks the same. Removed the tow bar, added the ST "flashes", raised the front, and swapped the brakes for 308s..

A handsome device. And looking pretty clean and straight for what is now essentially a thirteen year old car.

Vectra Bs are best in Saloon form.

Was following a tidy one earlier too, it was only lowered and looked great.

This is the 1st B ive owned John.

Im not a fan of them in hatchback form. Nice shape then the small boot just spoils it.

The 2.6 dosn't respond as well to tuning as the 2.5 does. Fitting the Gsi cams dosn't have the same affect as what it would on say the C25XE.

The 2.6 aren't as easy to tune.

the y26se's are a fairly low compression engine as standard but a nitrous kit will liven it up well if its power your wanting...
a little bit tweaking with the fuel too... adjustable fpr always helps on them despite reading that a 4 bar reg is the way to go

and as for 'look' im sorry, going to be honest here.... vectra b's are one ugly as fuck car... no offence meant by that i drive a derv as a daily

Thanks Kenny. Bit of a trek for you though for an old Vectra lol.

The 2.6 is restricted by pre cats and lamda's and shit so its not the best base to start with. Nitrous would help, but as its a daily driver, that would get expensive using it all the time, and not really ideal for the driving i do. At the moment, the power and low down grunt is adequate enough. If i wanted more, the best bang for buck would be to drop a 3.0/3.2 in it. Alot of owners experience over-fuelling with the 4 bar fpr, so an adjustable 1 would probably make it worse. It has a 3.8 bar fitted.

Yeah they aren't the prettiest of cars, but with the Irmscher parts, imo it makes them look a lot better.

So, still have this. Quite shocked actually as can't remember the last time i kept a car this long.

Was time for some new wheels. Had been searching for a few weeks for something shiney and dishey, BBS LM/CH reps or the likes. Nothing popped up so was going to settle for GSi wheels, but again, nothing popped up. Then these did for a bargain price, and having never seen them on a Vectra B beforehand, thought i would take a gamble. Tyres switched over, diy refurb and here we have it. Probably won't be to every ones taste but will do for now.
