I've had a can of monster in my fridge for the past 6 weeks. I maybe drink one can of fizzy pop about every 3 months. Rather drink water.

Never have and never will.
They are some repugnant smelling filth.
How anyone drinks anything that smells that bad is beyond me.

Use to live off a mixture of Lucozade (use to buy it in bulk from Costco) and Relentless when back in Uni - usually a few bottles pre-9am lecture, few throughout the day and a load if pulling 'all-nighters'. Now i rarely touch the stuff and if i do, it's the odd glass of Lucozade if i've got Man Flu.
As others have said, water/(weak) squash is the better alternative.

if your looking for a pick me up, your better off with a bottle of Ribena.
Twice the sugar and calories as Red Bull etc...
I don't drink either personally.

I used to smash through cans and cans of red bull when I was working in hotels. Have the occasional can these days. One of my learners smashed through 4 cans of Monster Ripper in a 2 hour appt today whilst he did 2 exams. Fucking nutter.

I drink phenomenal amounts of Lucozade when I'm rallying, could go through 7 bottles a day depending on how many service breaks there are. On the other side I drink loads of water (3 litres between services, so that could be 9 litres a day) so that maybe dilutes it a bit.
Odd thing is I can't drink any other energy drinks, red bull for example makes me lose concentration. A team I was part of was sponsored by Battery, had to be seen drinking cans of that stuff wherever I went. Made me pretty violently sick, sick behind the service lorry during every service wasn't nice.

I drink a lot of Mother (aussie Relentless i think) but only because of the taste. Starting to drink more coffee for a morning buzz these days.

I prefer plain old water both in terms of keeping you alert and for quenching thirst.
I drink a lot of water too but it never keeps me alert, definitely quenches thirst though.

I used drink 2-3 cans of redbull when I was at Uni. My diet was dreadful, so I felt tried all of the time and needed a boost which can from energy drinks.
When I started full time employment, I used to drink a can of relentless every day.
I came off energy drinks last year, and havent had one since.
My diet has improved over the last 12 months and been hitting the gym 5-6 a week. I feel so much energised.
I've also replaced 2-3 cans of fizzy drinks a day with water which I drink a hell of alot more nowadays
