Yes Gary that's what we need. And no1 should ever claim as people pay taxes. And everyone who's had a bump needs glasses and driving lessons. And everyone with a large fence is a gypo. Didn't you know that?!

First port of call would be to find out who owns the strip of land. My parents had to build their front wall 1m from the road and it's grey as to whether they own it or the council. We maintain it and have levelled and gravelled it but when we put a series of walling stones on it to stop people parking on it, we were told we had to remove them as it fell within the road boundary; we haven't and nothing's ever been said but I'd guess if anything happened and someone comained then it could come back on us as we were officially told to remove them. Our's aren't immediately on the road side like the ones in the photos here though, they're set back 6/7".

Next time someone hits a pothole and moans about it on here, they better get ruined.

''your fault, you should've seen it/avoided it/flew over it''.

Depends if the pothole is visible or not, pothole might also not have been there the last time you were at that road.

Id go back and night and rip them stones up. Hate people who do things like that. Woman did it locally with railway sleepers. They soon disappeared.

If it was painted white and not sticking in the road then fair play. Actually spoke to a neighbour on the road and a police car chased a van down there a few years ago and did the same thing, and the people were told to remove them. So will see what happens.

What if you hadn't driven down that road with the stones before?

We can all see it in the google street view image because it's daylight.

at comparing potholes (generally found randomly positioned on a road) with a large stone that is right on the boundary/edge of the road...

Most comparable situation is twatting a kerb, much like in this thread - http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=660541

Oh, it appears you even said the driver should take more care in the future there, changed your tune a bit eh?

Oh hell no, you ain't baiting the fuck out of me.

Hitting a kerb is different to hitting a stone wall thats in the road.

If there were pictures on the scene in that thread then maybe we could get a better idea.

Pothole can be in middle of road and easily obscured, especially if dark and wet. If you hit a big obvious one then yes, same applies.

TBF, from the Streetview image, the 'wall' looks hardly any bigger than a kerb in terms of height...

We'll agree to disagree.

I wouldn't bother with the writing to the council and stuff if it was me, i'd just pay out my own pocket to save on the grief.

I wouldn't go bat shit mental at the missus though.

It's bigger than a curb.

I've paid for it, still not 100% fixed but waiting on a couple of parts.

Did hell of a lot of damage to the car
