I had two consecutively at launch from Alfa. I really liked the styling and specification, and i enjoyed my time with them.
The reliability piece is dated now - if you look hard enough and speak to enough people you can find issues on anything and everything. The pre-shipping delivery inspection was poor historically but rigorous steps were introduced to improve the whole experience for the end user. That said, as a fleet/leasing industry - the maintenance budgets are sometimes penal and the residual values perform in line with similar product.

Bloody lovely looking cars, is have one.
EGR faults are common on any car that has one fitted, BMWs suffer swirl flap faults too, none of that is a shocker on this era diesel.
Shaun: DPF removal is now an MOT fail
Do these ones have the tasty big brakes too?

Did you not post up on your classified ad that your MX5 had been more reliable than your Alfa

That's probably to do with the fact that MX5s simply do not break

Yeah, but the Alfa has never stopped me from driving it. It had a few teething problems but all sorted under warranty.

My dads got one these. To be honest its been the most unreliable car we've had in a long time Constant problems with the EGR valve have been the main issue. We recently had a problem with the swirl valves which meant it had to have a new inlet which was cost a small fortune to fix. The semi automatic shift has also broken!
Having said that they are nice cars to drive, my dad had his remapped + DPF removed and it certainly doesn't hang about!
Update: Its currently being recovered from Bristol back to Birmingham after a high pressure fuel pipe split
