i always use 6 point when iam stripping cars. more contact area so less likely so slip.
always lose the 18mm 6 sided socket so twice ive used a 12 sided on the brembo bolts on a leon and both times it slipped off, ive then found and used the 6 sided and come off straight away

I was also fed up destroying bolts with halfords 12 point sockets so got the bergen set in 3/8 drive and got a full bahco 1/2 socket set for bigger stuff. 12 points just end up giving you more work!

They do a 750mm as well, but that one wouldn't have fitted in my box

I like that
Very novel idea. I'd have one just as a funky torch alone, never mind it's actual purpose (bloody love a torch, me).
Are they available in 3/8 drive do you know Ian?

For high torque applications, is it better to use a 6point or 12point wrench/socket?
I always thought 6, as my impact sockets are 6 - but I read the other day to use a 12.
Always 6 Kyle.
12 point are only any good on 12 point bolts. That's the only time I use them.

Price has gone up a bit.
You got yours yet Dan? Have to say I wasn't over the moon with the amount of play in the head, took it apart and packed it with a washer and its tighter now. Not even sure if its genuine Sealey? Markings have the model number but doesn't say Sealey anywhere on it which I thought was strange.

Same Ian. Doesn't say sealey, head was quite tight though prefer it slack tbh easier for cracking wheel nuts off. Be about all mine used for really.
£12.20 can't complain. Sure my mates got a sealey one will compare markings.
