you a car crash investigator? If not, dhow have you came to that conclusion?

Just by looking at crash testing, they test at 30mph, I know it's into a solid block, but they looked fucked. The Clio would of moved when it was hit, but in the pictures it doesn't look like a 30+mph impact like Pepper said, even at 15mph the impact and the noise of being hit by a ton can feel a lot.

Did the car that hit him drive away?

Years ago I hit a Fiesta at less than 5mph in my van, and that stoved the boot in.

A 10 year old Saab being hit square on by a big bit of concrete, probably with handbrake on, is not the same as a car going into the back of another car, which was probably sitting with foot on the brake, which came off either as soon as, or before it was hit.

Will get repaired for sure, my s3 had creased roof after rear end shunt and they fixed that. It was up for sale before the paint had fully dried!!

No it doesn't, I hope it all gets sorted out, and it doesn't take too long.

Quick update ... Car is still being assessed .. Estimate as of yesterday was up to £4.5k. Garage just phoned again to say it's been up on the ramp today and had the windshield removed - there is more damage which they are now pricing up ... Should know by end of day if it's a total loss. They hadn't found any chassis damage but the cost of repair seems to be getting huge.

Is the roof ok? If the roofs fine I'd say it'll get repaired.

roof is fine as far as im aware .... its not a chassis issue - its a price of parts and labour issue.

Cost of repair is a shade over £5k ...garage is advising aviva that it is borderline total loss, that there is likely to be further costs when they start the repair and that I as the owner would prefer it to be a total loss.......

So - looks like im in the market for a car between 4-8k

Why does roof matter?

I'd be the same and want it writing off if I were you. Aviva are a pain in the arse to work with.

Without trying to sound vindictive; as there was no evidence that he had seen you and tried braking, surely try and get him done for reckless/driving without due care?

Not trying to be a knob but I'd rest easier knowing they get punished for driving like a bellend.

guy lives around the corner - I kind of feel sorry for him. He had a mint golf and 9 years no claims - he was gutted. He was on the way back from work, in autopilot mode and just made a mistake .... I dont think it was reckless, he just made a mistake.
