Virtually every off the shelf kitchen unit from Wickes/B&Q/Homebase will last way more than 5 years. Ours was B&Qs off the shelf and is now 8 years old and not a single sign of it needing replacing.

No idea but I went by his advice, equally after looking at the more expensive units they are much better quality
