I didn't take it, the wife did... She did 7 20 minute sessions on Saturday in the wet on semi slicks and then bought Sunday track time too, 7 sessions again but this time with warm weather.
She loved it, the car was perfect.
The only casualty of the day was one of the trims around the exhaust tailpipes coming off when someone's exhaust heatshield fell off and clobbered it.
Need to do oil and filter now, get some 'wet' wheels and tyres, as it's crap in the wet on the Nankangs apparently, oh, and I need to build myself a car as this is now hers, so I'm told!
I don't have pics yet, people are still editing them.

Looking good!
Had a little lol at waterpump replacement, I don't have to drop the subframe lol. I admit its a bastard of a job though, and I've had to do it 3 times on a customers car after he didn't use a genuine pump!

So...
This is it for the year, needs a few bits an pieces sorting out before it's used next.
Big old list to do, main one is the gearbox, it's always had a whine so it's time to sort it, clutch too, needs a cam belt as it's been leaked on from the cam seals, dephaser pulley needs doing as well, plus an oil cooler as it gets a bit warm.
Loadsa money

They the Nankang NS2r's? If so how did she find them, other than crap in the wet?
Dont take it off the road yet. Plenty of dry days left.

It's not that, it's the fact that the cam belt is soaked in oil and I really would rather not risk the engine.
There's a few other things too like the seat being changed for a narrower one, which had turned into a bigger job than it was expected to be, plus the gearbox, just seems like the right time to hibernate it!
I've not actually driven it hard with those tyres on but from what she said, they're very good when you get a bit of heat into them, no good at all on the wet, as you'd expect.

I've a slightly leak from my rocker cover, annoy's the hell out of me that you can't remove it to seal it without the need of changing the cambelt

Get the whole engine and gearbox out.
Gearbox off to Agency £275 to rebuild with all new rings, hubs, bearings, seals and gaskets, plus Martin is a very nice epic man.
Cam seals have probably been pushed in too far, or somebody used a exhaust cam seal on the inlet cam.
Shame you're not nearer as its all right up my street (Stuff I actually like doing!)

I think that's the plan, cambelt is easier with the engine out anyway

Got a load of bits ordered today;
Powerflex front arm bushes
Powerflex rear beam bushes
Mocal 10 row oil cooler with thermostatic sandwich plate
INA cambelt kit
New aux belt (again) and tensioner
Power steering pump
New clutch cable
New dephaser pulley
New gear linkage bushes
Got an organic clutch kit sorted too but I want to have a look at it before I decide on that one or not.
Might have sorted a half cage too but I'm not sure if the guy will accept my offer
My mate has a gearbox spare so that's going to be sent off for a rebuild.
Inlets are going off this weekend to be ported then everything will be put together hopefully in time for Cadwell on November the 30th.
Need some other wheels and tyres though, just in case it rains!

Not going to bother with cams whilst you're doing the cambelt?

The RS stamped lower inlet is no different to the standard one when they're ported, it would be smaller than a ported standard one and I can still sell it on for £50 or so.
Can seals I have already.

I'll have a look. I'm not doing he belt myself though, there's too much other stuff to do so it's easier to get my mate to do it all on one go.

only just seen this thread
This blue with white wheels is my favorite combo
Came very close to buying on like that a good few years ago. Did a trackday with the cliosport lot at llandow and forgot how nimble these little cars are with semi slicks and a few tweaks.

White is a pig to keep clean on a track car...
Roll cage has fallen through, there's one on eBay but I'm not sure about the quality.
VRSTurbo, what was the place who did yours called and what do they charge for a half cage with a cross brace and harness bars?
