When I was driving a bus once some bloke jumped on and told me that if I dropped below 40mph then the bus would explode. So we had to drive around the ring road for hours
That was a pretty scary day

There's only about one section of the ring road you can even get to that speed before hitting traffic lights lol. Inner ring road that is.

Wrote off a flat bed van last year with a train, only a slow speed shunting engine doing about 5mph but with 5 unbraked heavy wagons it slid and took the van clean out, idiot reversed out in front of me thought I'd killed him!

Worked in a recycling plant when I was like 17 to save a bit of cash before I did my apprenticeship. Had to go on a huge piece of machinery called the crusher... basically just load big rocks onto it, which then fall into a metal jaw type hole thing.
Basically was to break huge rocks up into smaller ones, so these things packed some force.
A concrete bollard came up on the belt with metal fencing on it, it caught my sleeve and pulled me over the metal railing. Ended up having to hang onto the bar which ended up ripping the sleeve clean off my hoody.
Shit one. Lol

When i was a powder ciater we used to paint the tipper beds for nissan cabstars - at the end if each shift me and my workmate would use the forktruck to liad them away, one day all readed to close up and niticed we had forgot a pallet - had already took my boots off but went to help my mate (they were heavy fuckers so sometimes i needed to be the counter balance. Somehow he reversed up my foot and onto my ankle
No breaks but right around my foot split like a squashed sausage lol

Not at work but watching a mates dad angle grind bricks into shape for the driveway he was laying, the nut holding the blade into the grinder came off and the blade went flying off at full speed. It rolled along the floor, hit one wall, flew back and cut a big gouge out of the neighbours lawn then came to a stand still after hitting the neighbours house. Missed 3 of us by feet and could easily have caused a horrific injury, all he said was "that was close" the whole incident was less than half a second

That happened to my mate, was a bench mounted something with a massive blade, just missed him, ripped the side off his t-shirt open, he passed out from shock and his work mates welded the broken blade to a base and made a sort of trophy for him

Not work as such but we were up at a mate's farm and he was working on a car up on the forklift, fell off and could have easily crushed someone, his first reaction was 'bastard I wanted that radiator'.

Also why would you have your own public liability insurance when employed by a company, unless you were subcontracting to them of course?
