I like the a/cla. Was a guy in town with a cla amg last week, every time he changed gear it done the whole bang bang bang thing. Not sure if it was the way he was driving but that would get tiring very quickly.

You think?
I don't think I would get tired of it! Probably not all that audible in the cabin? It's a Mercedes not a Subaru.

I like that sort of thing normally but it was on every gear change and he wasn't booting it.

Prefer the A Class to the CLA. As soon as I realised they were practically the same car you can see the CLA has been squashed and pulled in places.
The A Class is lovely though, probably the biggest jump from fugliness to nice looking car of all time.

on the A Class and the CLA the one single thing that bugs me is that the door frames inside are not covered so you can see the exterior colour of the car on the inside door frame
Feels very cheap

Exactly this. That interior is so absolutely lovely that they can get away with an oversight like that.
Don't get me wrong, I agree it would have been better to cover it up, but everything else is just so perfect, it doesn't really matter.

Why does every new car seem to have dials from a 1990's Aiwa hifi system in them now, and everyone thinks they are amazing?
So much shiny tat

Things like that annoy me, especially on a car that costs as much as they do

I think modern cars are encouraging distraction from driving.
I don't have a cup holder, shouldn't be using your car as a dining room, just wait until you arrive or stop at a service station if your about to die from thirst.
What next? a sock drawer?

Cup holders in cars have existed since before you were born.
And I'm pretty sure that cup holders are a natural evolution from people wanting to bring a drink on their drive, thus offering a safe way to do so, which is effectively the opposite of what you seem to imply.

think the cla might not do this as they are frameless
but the hatch certainly has it and for a 30k car its a big oversight

So are the seat belt locks, i spose you don't notice them while driving but am sure they could stick some chrome effect plastic on there as well.

I've just been given a 2014 E-Class 220 for a while. Bit strange, to put it in park neutral or drive you have to use like an indicator lever. Never had something like that before, feels odd. Drives alright, but the interior.... Could do so much better.

I want one of those P. Is it the AMG sport version? (Like a-line/Msport not E63)
The column shifter is very American. Few cars have it now, dress up space on the transmission tunnel
