That's an opinion and I've no data. But when one of them goes, you're not moving it yourself as you would a fabric one.

The MK1, although older, is such a better car performance wise. Obviously a bit more rattly and not as many creature comforts, but find the right one and you get abs, air con etc.

Fuck what anyone else thinks, if you drive one, like it and know you will use it (I used to get the roof down in the MX all year round) then just get one.

No one mentioned MR2 yet. I have two and think they are a bargain at the moment. Only issue is storage space. Can even look a little bit less hairdresser with correct wheels and kit.

Id recommend TT.

Have the V6 mk2 which is pretty pricey to run and tax

Other halfs dad just picked this up for £3650. 225 roadster. Wouldn't worry about dead pixels, dashpods are common failure and about £100 to fix.

Had a Bentley GTC V8 that was a convertible. First soft top I've ever driven as well as it goes (at least I think) beautiful car and drive, but the roof down was a bit too flash, so more often than not I left it up. Lovely on the odd occasion we have a nice day or two, though.

Currently on my second MR2, awesome car, get one, ace fun, not massively quick but very fast and capable through bends, tail can flick if you want it too (can easily go too far though)

Roofs are cheap, Hamish or Jethro or or whatever he's called in south Wales are a few hundred ( Matt Smiths I think is the business name)

Parts are cheap, couple of well known problems but plenty of good ones out there

My MR2 has got a 3SGTE lump from a mk2 turbo so they can be made pretty quick as well. The original engine was the weak point for me.

Yes I am, same user name.

Seen a few 2ZZ videos and wasn't impressed, I wish I'd done the Honda K20 now.

I hate looking at new motors fucking hate it.

Seen a 'clean' Audi TT [225], and I say it like that as I've only seen photos and not yet to view it. 02 plate, 39,000 on the clock, but up for £6,999. Personally I say it's a little over priced.
